Don’t be put off by this 5.56x45 round’s mysterious sounding “M193” designation. If AR-15 ammo had flavors like ice cream, M193 would be vanilla!

This round has all the patents of an M193. At 55 grains its bullet is loaded to a muzzle velocity 3,240 fps, as a full metal jacket it’s designed to feed without jamming in a semi-automatic, and with its boat tail its profile is optimized to reduce drag that could have dampened downrange velocities.

Fiocchi measures this round’s G1 ballistic coefficient (a measure of bullet aerodynamics, where a higher number is better) at 0.243. As such its bullet still ought to be moving at 1,817 fps at 400 yards (when fired out of a 20” barrel), at which point it packs more than 400 ft lbs of energy. Although this ammo is intended for range training, it’s still mighty effective for more serious business (if you catch our drift).

This round features a new brass case. It does look discolored, but interestingly enough all brass cases should look like that once they’re correctly heat-treated during their production process. Fiocchi just skipped polishing this brass, making it look more like America’s own common military grade M193 ammo as the result.

These 420 rounds are loose packed, contained all together in a big plastic bag within their box. Great if you hate opening boxes!
