Competitive and casual shooters alike will appreciate the accuracy and reliability of this 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition from Winchester. This ammo comes packaged in a bulk priced 900 round case (5 packs of 180 rounds each)--an excellent way to push your per-round costs to rock bottom. In addition to the ever-popular AR-15 platform, many .223 Remington rifles can fire this ammo (check with the manufacturer).
Each round in this case propels a heavy 62 grain open tipped projectile to a muzzle velocity of 3,060 feet per second. Although this is not mil spec ammo, it produces trajectories comparable to those of M855 ball from Lake City. The open tipped bullet delivers a relatively high level of precision even at a distance, making it ideal for serious target shooting. OT bullets are non-expanding and should not be confused with jacketed hollow points (JHPs), which they may superficially resemble.
Winchester produces this ammunition in Oxford, Mississippi using non corrosive Boxer primers and military style brass with visible annealing marks (which simply serve to indicate the case has been constructed properly). The brass can be reloaded for another batch of training at the range.
