Do you ever get bored? Here’s what to do: place a 22 LR next to a 50 BMG and have yourself a hearty chuckle. “Look at how much bigger one is than the other!” you can say out loud, which only helps amplify the levity.

Are you not so easily entertained? Ah. Well, in that case, you might try actually firing the 50 BMG instead.

Magtech’s .50 cal brutes are like multivitamins to any good 50 BMG rifle. These aren’t match or otherwise royally fancy cartridges. They’re humble M33 loads, and armed with 624 grain full metal jacket projectiles that will attract a magnet thanks to their steel content. A 30” barrel pushes that surly chunk of metals to a muzzle velocity of 2,952 fps. Muzzle energy is about 90 times higher than that of a 22 LR, so be sure not to aim it at anything you like or care about.

Magtech made this ammo recently (in Brazil), and specifically for the commercial market. That didn’t stop them from loading each cartridge with a military-grade brass case. You can still see the annealing mark around its neck, as it wasn’t polished for enhanced prettiness at the factory.
