Hornady Superformance is like a prune juice shooter for your 6.5 Creedmoor rifle! This round’s 120 grain bullet clears muzzle at a velocity of 3,050 fps – 125 fps faster than Hornady’s usual 6.5 CM 120gr load – and it does it without generating above-standard chamber pressure or added recoil!

The CX makes excellent use of its boosted MV. The lead-free bullet utilizes its ballistically efficient Heat Shield tip, grooved shank, boat tail, and nigh-perfect weight distribution to achieve a high (relative to its weight) G1 BC of 0.428. That means it screams through the air so efficiently that it reliably hits 500 yards with ~1,100 ft lbs of kinetic energy. Here’s what you can expect from a 24” barrel:
0yds: 3,050 fps | 2,479 ft lbs | -1.5”
100yds: 2,826 fps | 2,129 ft lbs | 1.4”
200yds: 2,614 fps | 1,821 ft lbs | 0.0”
300yds: 2,411 fps | 1,549 ft lbs | -6.5”
400yds: 2,217 fps | 1,310 ft lbs | -19.1”
500yds: 2,032 fps | 1,100 ft lbs | -38.7”

The CX’s copper-alloy body enhances its terminal ballistics as well. Even close-range impact won’t chip more than one-twentieth of the bullet’s weight away, thus assuring it holds on to the energy it needs to penetrate deep while it expands wide.
