This round’s 140 grain Hybrid Target bullet utilizes Berger’s hybrid ogive profile. The unique geometry combines the tangent ogive’s ability to promote superior alignment with the barrel’s rifling with the secant ogive’s inherently lower drag – without carrying over the ogives’ respective shortcomings.
The Hybrid Target is a match shooter’s HPBT, with a form-fitted lead core that boasts superior uniformity of weight as well as weight distribution. This bullet’s boat tail is ideally angled for its 6.5mm diameter, and Berger’s J4 Precision Jacket is drawn to a concentricity standard of +/-0.0003”. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better balanced bullet!
So many features come together to create a bullet with a 0.607 G1 ballistic coefficient (0.311 G7). That imparts exceptional resistance to wind deflection, as well as a velocity that doesn’t dip beneath 2,000 fps before passing 500 yards. You’ll have a far easier time setting personal records with so flat a trajectory working for you.
Federal loads Gold Medal cartridges to their strictest specs, and hand inspects each just as thoroughly. These rounds’ Hybrid Targets are meticulously matched to premium Gold Medal primers and uniform charges of propellant.
