We strongly discourage you from using your 6.5x50mmSR Arisaka rifle for its original purpose: defending and expanding the Japanese Empire. But we do want you to go out and shoot the thing – specifically at deer, using this excellent American-made ammo by Bannerman no less!
That’s right! This ammo hasn’t been sitting in storage for the past 80+ years. It’s newly made, and features shiny reloadable brass cases (which were drawn by Prvi Partizan of Serbia) and 100% noncorrosive Boxer primers. (It’s not like you have to worry all that much about buying military surplus 6.5 Japanese ammo, anyway. Japan was ordered to destroy it all when they took an L in ‘45.)
This round’s bullet is no boring FMJ. It is a soft point boat tail, which is nonmagnetic, designed to penetrate deeply while expanding widely, and shaped in such a fashion as to help it conserve superior downrange velocity. Precisely the kind of bullet you need for a successful hunt!
