There are polymer tipped bullets, and then there is the ELD Match. This 6.5mm Creedmoor cartridge by Hornady delivers pinpoint accuracy with its 140 grain Extremely Low Drag Match projectile. The bullet features Hornady’s proprietary Heat Shield tip, which will not deform when cooked in flight by air friction. The bullet’s always straight and centered tip complements its ballistically efficient boat tail and secant ogive profile. With its rotationally stable AMP jacket, the ELD Match homes in on bulls hundreds of yards away with a 0.646 ballistic coefficient.

Hornady’s variety of proprietary bullet designs has made them a big name in the shooting world, but their components deserve credit, too. They seat a Match label round’s bullet in a brass casing with highly uniform dimensions, and pair it with precisely measured and formulated propellant. These long distance rounds come in a polymer field box for protection against nicks and scratches that could throw off their accuracy in the slightest.
