We’re sure the Minnesotans who loaded this 6.5x55 Swedish cartridge for Federal have more than a little Scandanavian blood running through their veins. They gave it a 140 grain full metal jacket projectile – a dense lead core teamed up with a gilding metal jacket that chambers smooth and flies straight until it puts a hole through the thing it was directed toward.
Its bullet weight and style make this round similar to Sweden’s classic skarp patron m/94 prickskytte m/41 military cartridge, but without terminal expansion it’d be more appropriate for defending Sweden than it would be for hunting.
6.5x55 Swedish ammo doesn’t grow on trees in the land of the 223, so handloaders will be happy to have these rounds’ reloadable brass cases in their service. These rounds’ non-corrosive primers won’t wreak havoc in your old rifle’s action and bore either!
