This 6.8 SPC cartridge from Hornady’s Custom line of ammunition features the 100 grain GMX projectile. The copper alloy bullet is incredibly tough, and because it is monolithic it has no jacket and core that can separate during penetration. That means it’s able to retain no less than 95 percent of its weight as it expands up to 1.5 times its original diameter, creating a wide and deep wound channel that will drop rugged game fast. Its construction also suits this bullet for use in California and other areas where traditional ammo is banned, and further means it causes extremely little bore fouling.

The GMX is a highly accurate bullet thanks to its drag reducing cannelure, sleek and aerodynamic profile, and pointed polymer tip. That tip also serves to initiate rapid expansion upon impact. Hornady’s Custom ammo is designed to deliver value comparable to a carefully prepared handload.
