Made in the Czech Republic. Designed for hunting. Loaded with a 131 grain soft point projectile. Sellier & Bellot’s steel-free SP is naught but a lead core and copper-zinc alloy jacket, the latter of which covers everything save for its tip. That’s all an SP needs to be in order to deliver terminal expansion, as well as pierce a clean path to any American ungulate’s heart.
S&B’s SP is decently aerodynamically efficient. The manufacturer reports 2,602 fps muzzle velocity out of a 23.5” test barrel, and the 0.389 G1 BC that stands for the following ballistic performance, more or less:
0yds: 2,602 fps | 1,970 ft lbs | -1.5”
100yds: 2,379 fps | 1,647 ft lbs | 5.6”
200yds: 2,168 fps | 1,368 ft lbs | 6.5”
300yds: 1,968 fps | 1,127 ft lbs | 0.0”
400yds: 1,779 fps | 921 ft lbs | -15.5”
500yds: 1,605 fps | 749 ft lbs | -42.0”
600yds: 1,446 fps | 608 ft lbs | -82.1”
