Whatever firearm you need it for, the 7.62x51mm is a great NATO round with multiple, powerful uses. With this popular size, fill your ammo stock for multiple firearms.
In the nearly sixty years since its founding, the Nassau, Germany based MEN has come to be a worldwide successful company, providing great ammunition to all directly from the heart of the Rhineland.
Magtech Ammunition purchased MEN a few years back and has made the brand even better since then. Magtech is also working to help bring over this great military-grade brand to the US so keep an eye out for more MEN product at awesome prices!
Firing at 2707 feet per second, these rounds will not forsake you on the range. With these 320, full metal jacket, 147 grain rounds, you will have a great time on the range hitting the target time and again. In addition, these rounds are equipped with brass casings and sealed boxer primers, making them reloadable. Don't miss out on these quality, inexpensive rounds.
I recently had a chance to try out some of this 7.62 NATO load from the German ammo company MEN. If you’re not familiar with MEN, they’ve been around since the 1950s and they supply ammo for the German police as well as other military and law enforcement agencies around the world. A few years ago, MEN was acquired by the CBC Group -- the same parent organization that owns Magtech and Sellier and Bellot.
This 7.62x51 load is new production ammo with a 147 grain full metal jacket bullet loaded into a boxer-primed reloadable brass case. The bullets have a lead core with a copper jacket. The green-colored ring you see around the primers is a sealant that protects the rounds from moisture. The there is also sealant around the bullet at the case mouth.
I went through a few boxes of this load using a Wilson Combat .308 AR and Remington and Tikka bolt action rifles. The MEN load was reliable with no feeding or ignition issues, and recoil was on par with most other 7.62 NATO and .308 Winchester range ammo.
To test accuracy, I fired a few 5-shot groups from a bench rest at 100 yards out of each of the three test rifles. The best groups were between one and one and a half inches, which is exceptional for non-match grade 7.62.
This 7.62x51 NATO load from MEN is a great option when you just need some dependable everyday practice ammo to use at the range.

Works great in my M&P 10. Shot a few hundred rounds and no issues.

Better than average performance for the money, though price is has increased
Surprisingly good value for the money (with the old price that I bought at - now that the price has gone up significantly I'd rank as slightly better than average value.) I tested these with an 18" Lilja barreled custom (aka home-built) AR-10. I was getting an average of 2590 fps, extreme spread of 55fps and SD of 19 for 10 measured shots on a 50 degree day. I've had a lot worse with range-quality (as opposed to match quality) factory rounds. By comparison, Fiocchi 150 grains I baselined with the same day came in at 2890fps average, ES of 158 and SD of 54. The MENs do seem to be temp sensitive, however, as the series of 10 continually got faster from start to finish as the chamber got hotter. Just guessing on that as the reason for the fps increase and will need to do more testing to validate, but these are range rounds so no big deal regardless.
I bought these to play around in the Heavy Optics division in a local 3-gun match, but that match was postponed due to weather so I can't comment yet on real performance. Seemed good enough on the range and I wasn't looking to spend the money for match quality ammo when I'm not a match quality player.
Also a final note on my scoring. Something has to vastly exceed my expectations to get a 5-star rating, and I have high expectations most of the time. When I bought these back in November this would have been 5-stars for Value, now I'd rank somewhere between a high 3 and 4. The rounds were very clean and shiny, packed in 20 round boxes and I had no FTF or FTE out of the 60 or so I tested with.
