This 7.62x39mm cartridge from Century Arms’ Red Army Standard line of ammunition sports a 124 grain projectile, which is approximately the same bullet weight offered by the caliber when it was introduced in the 40s. The bullet features a hollow point, which causes it to expand substantially during penetration, making this round as good for self-defense and hunting as it is for casual target practice. The bullet also offers a boat tail design, the tapered base of which markedly raises its ballistic coefficient resulting in its lower sensitivity to cross winds, flatter trajectory, and higher energy delivery upon impact.

This cartridge features the distinctively Russian steel casing. As a result you can not reload it, but because its price solidly reflects steel’s far lower cost than brass you’ll gladly opt for such a trade-off. These affordable 1,000 rounds’ non-corrosive Berdan primers give them a long shelf life, making them ideal for both high volume and casual shooters alike.
