Bannerman Cartridge Company made this brand new ammo so you can hunt and shoot targets with the Type 99 rifle your dad or grandpa brought back home as a souvenier. Its 150 grain bullet, which is made by Prvi Partizan of Serbia, is a fully nonmagnetic soft point boat tail. It will expand after impact to maximize trauma to medium game, but it’s also cost-effective enough for taking aim at paper bulls. The bullet’s tapered base helps it conserve more velocity while traveling over longer distances, so don’t be afraid to hike out your aim.
Prvi Partizan also made this ammo’s brass cases for Bannerman. They are new, strong, heat-treated, Boxer-primed and reloadable – get your hands on some large rifle primers and make your own 7.7 JAP at home. Bannerman recorded this round’s muzzle velocity with a 28” test barrel; expect a lower muzzle velocity out of a Type 99’s 25.9” barrel.
