34% Failure to Fire
I ordered a 1000 rd case. Of the first 110 rounds I fired, 37 were failure to fires or 34%. I was using a Glock 26 Gen 4 which never misfired prior to or has had a misfire prior to this.
Lucky Gunner subsequently told me that Glocks are known to have trouble with the hard Russian primers.
Value for the price
I did not use these for home defense, or for anything important. I used them to have fun and target practice at the range. at the end of the day, I had to clean my gun no matter which rounds I used, and all I was left thinking, is about how much I had saved, versus a more expensive round.
It's dirty. Really dirty and the red glue or whatever it may be on the primer gets everywhere after a couple hundred rounds. Aside from that this ammo is fantastic! Shoots like most other cheap ammo and super reliable! Shot hundreds of rounds through glock 19 gen 4 and a ruger lc9 without a jam or any other malfunction.
Love this company!
This company actually knows what the 2nd amendment and excellent customer service are! No BS order filling with an outstanding products. I've already ordered my next 1,000 rounds of another caliber. You can trust this company. We owe them our support.
Haven't shot from this most recently ordered batch yet. But, this ammo has always shot clean for me in the past. No complaints. Shipped from LuckyGunner quickly, packaged well and the price was best I could find online after many hours of shopping.
Ammunition purchase - Wolf PF 9mm rounds
This ammunition worked well and for the price it cannot be beat. Did have a couple jams but the pistol that I was using may be more susceptible to this. May try a combination of brass casings instead of these to see if there is really a difference. It could just be the pistol and not the ammunition.
Dirty, Poor Performance
Purchased a 1000 rounds of Wolf 9mm for a class, had continual problems loading XDM magazine, had to load every other round with another manufacturers ammo to get it to remotely load and feed. Also, attempted to shoot the same ammo through my Springfield EMP 9mm, had issues with light strikes, feeding and ejection issues. Ran 3200 rounds through both of these guns Saturday & Sunday and had ZERO problems with the other ammo that we were shooting. Ended up with approximately 500 rounds of wolf left over with no desire to continue to try and shoot it.
Excellent practice ammo..for the right pistol.
I've used this regularly for years as practice ammo for my CZ-75b. If I had to guess, I have at least 1000+ rounds of Wolf 9mm through that beloved handgun with zero malfunctions. Very affordable ammo that's reasonably accurate and goes bang every time you press the trigger.
The downsides of this ammunition is that it is rather dirty and the combination of steel cases and berdan primers make them useless for reloaders. But taken as a whole, it's an excellent practice round given the very reasonable price.
One item worth mentioning is that while Wolf does use a spray on dry lubricant to improve feeding of those steel cases, handguns with extremely tight tolerances may experience failures to feed. This would be more common in smaller guns. I have fired 9mm Wolf through several full size 9mm handguns and have never had a FTF in any of them so I don't want to scare anyone away from this ammo. But if you have a small 9mm pocket pistol and you haven't tried this ammo before, I'd recommend buying 50-100 rounds to start out and make sure they run reliably before buying them in bulk.
great for the price
This is one few Ammo brands that runs without a jam in my finicky Taurus Millennium PT 111. A little dirty but not too bad. Accuracy is predictable. Really good for the price. I bought 1000 rounds 10+ years ago and they still work like the day I bought it.
Priced well but would not feed in Springfield XD(M)
I purchased Wolf steel-cased 9mm ammo for the attractive price but found that it would stick in the mags on my XD-M and would not feed well. So sticky that I simply can't use it in that gun. I am wondering if I could spray some kind of dry lubricant on the casings to eliminate the problem or if that would cause other problems.
