Winchester operates and manages the U.S. government’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, so it came as no surprise when they were also selected to supply ammunition for the Army’s Modular Handgun System program. Now you can buy the same 9mm Winchester provides for the XM17 and XM18 – the Army’s versions of the SIG Sauer P320!

An M1152 spec 9mm cartridge is loaded with a 115 grain full metal jacket. Our military does not use hollow points during international warfare per the Hague Convention of 1899, which is why this round’s FMJ has a flat nose profile: It delivers a more injurious wound channel than a round nose non-expanding bullet. We assume you’re not personally going to conduct international warfare anytime soon, which is why we advise selecting hollow point ammunition for self-defense, but the flat nose FMJ is still great for target shooting since it cuts such a clean hole through paper. Makes it easier to assess how tightly you’re placing your shots!

M1152 ammo is not classified as +P. Regardless, its 1,320 fps muzzle velocity does make this ammo overpressure, so you must take care only to fire it in firearms that are rated for +P. This is new production ammo, not military surplus, loaded in the USA with noncorrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases.
