Sarsılmaz A.Ş. is headquartered in Elazığ, Turkey. They have manufactured firearms for over 150 years, beginning with simple flintlock rifles and progressing to over 300 different models of pistols, shotguns, submachine guns and rifles. But when Sarsılmaz decided to begin offering 9mm ammunition as well, they enlisted the help of ZSR Patlayıcı Sanayi A.Ş. in nearby Balıkesir, Turkey.
ZSR’s 115 grain FMJ starts out as a tough lead-antimony alloy core, which is made even tougher by the addition of a copper-zinc alloy jacket. Most importantly, these metals are all nonmagnetic, which gives you the green light to fire ZSR ammo at all commercial ranges. Don’t expect the solid point FMJ to expand as it tunnels through soft tissue, but it makes up for its unsuitability for self-defense applications with its economical design, aerodynamic profile and hard, low-fouling jacket.
ZSR loads brass shell casings of their own creation to ensure reliable feeding and extraction. This is new production ammo and accordingly outfitted with the non-corrosive Boxer primers you need to prevent rust from forming within your pistol or carbine.
