A: Thanks for reaching out Christopher! Two main differences: Punch bullet has a skived jacket and a standard lead core, whereas HST bullet has a notched jacket and a preformed lead core. The Punch bullet isn't designed to penetrate barriers as effectively. The Punch bullet is certainly adequate for most self-defense scenarios a civilian could encounter, although it will lose more of its weight as it pierces barriers like vehicle doors and safety glass. The HST, which was developed for law enforcement, penetrates and expands within a threat more reliably after having penetrated such barriers.
