TRUE POTENCY FOR SELF-DEFENSE. It requires more than overpressurization (although this 9mm +P round’s high 1,220 fps muzzle velocity relative to its 124 grain bullet certainly doesn’t detract from its effectiveness at neutralizing a threat). Potency also requires components you can trust to do their job right!
The Gold Dot jacketed hollow point is designed to pass through barriers without shedding excessive weight and momentum as a result of core/jacket separation. Thanks to its fully electrochemically bonded jacket, the JHP can enter thick clothing, plywood, and even drywall, and then exit out the other side perfectly whole.
The Gold Dot JHP’s nose cavity is created via two die presses – not one. That programs it to initiate expansion under a wide range of velocities, and expand to a wide diameter under the same. It’s extra assurance that your shot will harm the threat more, and pose less risk to innocent bystanders/passersby.
Sealed primers, to protect the propellant from water. Nickel plating, to protect the brass cases against the same. Nickel also reduces friction inside a cycling semi-auto, thus reducing the odds of a terribly timed jam.
