A: Hello Joseph! You've got SAAMI's max psi for 9mm and 9mm +P spot on. Like you say, there is no SAAMI spec for 9mm +P+, so I can't give you a precise psi limit. The informal industry agreement is that a +P+ load is about 15 percent greater than a +P. The average 9mm +P+ is loaded to 42,000 psi, but pressures as high as 44,000 aren't unthinkable. Really, all you ought to know is that there is no set limit to a +P+ round's pressure – barring anything that physics simply won't permit, of course. +P+ is a sort of catch-all designation for rounds that exceed +P max psi, just like a heavyweight boxer is 200 pounds or heavier.
