Ah! Colt National Match – made in Utah by Doubletap, and ideal for any and all kinds of target shooting. It doesn’t matter if you have no more intention of entering a shooting competition than you have of soaking your head in baked beans. This is the 9mm ammunition you need to get your target on!
This ammunition is loaded to the same pressure and velocity specifications as Colt Defense (which are unfortunately unavailable to us at the time of writing). The 147 grain FMJ reliably emulates the ballistic performance of a similarly heavy defensive bullet, although its round nose (RN) does give it a decidedly different (albeit smoother-feeding) frontal profile. The RN is standard for target-grade FMJs, of course, so it’s hardly some horrible obstacle to your target shooting satisfaction.
The ammunition Doubletap loads on behalf of Colt features premium, factory-new brass cases. It’d be a tragedy if no one were to handload them. It would be ideal if you handloaded them yourself!
