Speer’s Gold Dot ammunition made a huge impact when it hit the scene back in 1995, and today it’s one of the most popular self-defense solutions on the market. This 9mm round’s 147 grain projectile has been crafted via the Uni-Cor process, which bonded its jacket to its core one molecule at a time. Because the Gold Dot bullet’s jacket and core are nigh inseparable, few urban barriers are able to rob it of enough terminal effect to neutralize a target effectively.

A Gold Dot projectile’s hollow point nose cavity is formed over the course of two stages. In the first, “memory lines” are created which serve to facilitate reliable expansion. In the second, the bullet’s profile is optimized for both smooth feeding and enhanced accuracy. This round’s ability to cycle like clockwork is further benefited by its nickel plated brass casing, which additionally protects against corrosion. This round’s propellant is formulated to emit little muzzle flash, making it just the one to count on when you have to plant your feet and stand your ground in the dark -- it won’t destroy your night vision with your first trigger pull.
