Alright for plinking
I bought a 100 round box of this particular ammo... I can't really bash it to much, I can say it fed well in my 1911 and ejected just the same, only problem I had with it was a personal problem in that it burns really dirty. So much as the casings themselves had powder burns on them and my gun.... lets just say it was in need of a cleaning after 20 rounds let alone 100. Other then the burn, I have to say this is a decent round for the money and I would recomend this for target practice or the like... still wouldn't put my life on the line with this one though.. thats what jhp's are for ;)
Happy ammo purchase.
Bought 500 rounds, shot 300 rounds through my kimber custom eclipse. I did not have any feeding or firing problems. all loads were consistent and I actually 150 of those rounds in a IDPA shooting event. I would buy them again.
Worst ammo I ever bought
I got three boxes. At least 1 and sometimes as many as 3 rounds per 10 round magazine misfed or failed to fire on first strike. I was shooting a single/double action Taurus so all rounds eventually were fired but several took 3 strikes. I was breaking in a new gun so I expected a misfeed or two early on, but certainly not like I got. I was wondering if I had a defective pistol. When I finished the 3 boxes of this stuff, I shot 2 boxes of Magtech 230 gr FMJ and a 20 round box of Corbon 185+p JHP. There was not a single problem with the 120 rounds of non-Aguila ammo. It was not the pistol, just the ammo. The first and last time I will ever buy Aguila.
Expect lots of bullet setback
Performance not rated because ammunition purchased for non-firing test purposes. The single box received had the most bullet setback of any of the 20 or so commercial ammunitions tested. It was even worse than CCI Blazer and Blazer Brass! Problem appears to result from failure of the sealant between the bullet and case. Monitor setback carefully and avoid repeated chambering. Aguila has been notified. Your box may be OK.
