CCI had a vision. “What if shooters could train their hearts out – without blowing their hard-earned shillings on brass cases?” This line of questioning would inspire the Idahoan company to develop the world’s first aluminum case: not reloadable by any means, but by all means cheaper than brass.

That makes this ammo a more economical solution to all-day range training (or partial-day range training). The 165 grain bullet is an ordinary FMJ, with a single caveat: its jacket is plated, as opposed to “true jacketed.” This simply means the ammo’s not a good pick for a pistol or PCC with a ported barrel or compensator.

Blazer recorded this round’s 1,100 fps muzzle velocity with a 4” test barrel. It is technically subsonic, although normal performance variation could easily produce supersonic velocity. Expect the 0.138 G1 BC FMJ to behave as follows if your sight is 1” above bore line and your barrel is 4” long also:

Fired 100 rounds through my HK P30 last week. This stuff works just like it should. No issues. I normally specify brass casings but tried the aluminum this time. Glad I found this good deal!

Gets stuck in revolver

Overall not bad. Got these because of the price. Unfortunately they must expand a bit when fired, because they get stuck pretty good in the revolver (rhino) and need a few good whacks to get out.

Prefer 180 gr....but 165 is ok for range and competition shoots. 180 is somewhat smoother and has less kick.

Very decent range ammo...have not had any issues. I prefer 180 gr 40cal if price was a little better. Seems to be less kick with 180. Good stuff. .great staff at LGC.

went last weekend @the range and did fired 1oo thru my glock22 with a 9" double ported LoneWolf barell, no missfires, no jams, despite the fact the casing is high grade aluminum, did cicle flawless. Awesome ammo for the value, highly recommended. Way to go Lucky Gunner keep up the good work in providing good ammo at the lowest $ out there

I've fired 650 rounds through my M&P 40 and have not had a single FTF/FTE, etc. I'm not trying to drive nails with it but rather am practicing for IDPA competition type uses so can't comment on extreme accuracy. It is close enough. Shipping was fast. This will be my standard range ammo going forward and I expect I will order another 1000 soon.

I was skeptical after a gun shop dealer told me it was "Junk! Gets too hot!". What non-sense! After using literally thousands of these rounds in my Para P16-40 over the last ten years, I use nothing else. No jams, no stove pipes, only 2 duds in all this time! Accuracy? I only shoot cans on a 100 yard range, normally hitting 1 out of 2, or 1 out of 3 on an off day! Not even the most expensive ammo works this well in my gun. Maybe others do not digest a steady diet of Blazer aluminum like a Para, but I'm sold on it.

A little nervous about the aluminum jacket vs. brass. Seemed to perform ok. I noticed a distinct lack of accuracy at distances greater than 15-ft. I had just put a new grip on my HK P-30 so that may have been the reason for so many misses at 35-ft. I will have to test them side by side with a higher quality round next time.

I bought a bunch of this ammo for a tactical pistol class (and also my CCW class). I was skeptical of the aluminum cases at first, but this ammo performed all day even after numerous magazines ejecting into sand and dirt. Of course a gotta credit to the Glock 22 too! This is just plain old ball ammo, but it is now my favorite range ammo for sure! Love it!
