Corbon Ammunition is an American owned company that has been in existence for several decades and has become renowned for high velocity defense ammunition.

Corbon's patented Pow'RBall technology features a polymer ball giving the bullet a full metal jacket or rounded ball profile making feeding easier. This cartridge is specifically designed for finicky-feeding semi automatics and revolvers.

The lead bullet core is shaped into a specifically designed cavity where the polymer ball sits. Upon entering the target, the polymer ball is pushed back resulting in a controlled expansion of the bullet making this round excellent for self-defense with its deep penetration.

This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.

Ballistics Test Summary

Ballistic gelatin testing is one way to get an idea of how a self-defense load might perform in a real world self-defense situation. So we fired five rounds of Corbon 70 gr PowRBall from a Glock 42 from a distance of 10 feet into a block of synthetic ballistic gel with a barrier of four layers of fabric simulating heavy clothing. We then gathered information on the expansion and penetration characteristics of this load. That data is represented in the chart below.

How this load compares to other .380 Auto (ACP) loads from our tests in regards to bullet expansion and penetration can be found in the diagrams at the bottom of the page.

We also took photos of each bullet that was recovered from the gelatin, seen in the photo slider below. The high speed video shows this round impacting the ballistic gelatin at 10,000 frames per second.
