When all of the other sites I visited were "out of stock", Lucky Gunner had what I needed! I think I ordered on a Saturday and my ammo was here on Wednesday. So far, a great experience with LG. I'll definitely be ordering more from them!
on paper, the fiocchi 165 jhp is cooler than the 165 grain hst3, golden saber, and ranger. don't believe it. this is as close to shooting 357 magnum out of a pistol as you can get. muzzle flip, muzzle blast, and noise from a 4 inch barrel are almost on par with a full house 357 (and much closer than the 357 sig). lots of fun for a magazine or two (esp at night), but then my wrist says "enough". not the sort of thing you should carry for self defense (unless you just want to scare them away).
I've run approximately 200 rounds of Fiocchi 165 gr jhp through both of my new Sig 320's. Perfect ! No malfunctions of any kind. I believe that the 165 gr bullet is the perfect weight for the .40 S&W cartridge. Although the rounds seem to be loaded to decent velocities, I do not consider the recoil 'snappy'. Of course I've been shooting for many years and i don't consider the 40 a 'snappy' round. Shooting off hand from 25 yards the accuracy was more than acceptable (8 inch group). I will be buying more of this ammo.
Quality ammo, but a little more recoil than I'd like
Bought 1000 rounds of the 165 gr. JHP. Shot 100 rounds at range last weekend, and while clean and no misfires, I could feel more recoil than I'm used to. My groupings were not as good. Still great ammo, but be advised you're going have to take some extra time to reset between shots.
Can not say enough about this ammo. I didn't know what to expect when I first ordered it. Very accurate, cycles perfectly...no jams!! I can not find ammo for this price anywhere locally. I will be buying again. Thanks luckygunner!
Bought bulk 'cause the price was right
I bought bulk because they were the most affordable. My Glock 23 and 27 both perform like champions. The 165gr JHP is all I carry now. When my collection of assorted 180gr ammo runs out I'll keep them in my Taurus PT100 as well. I now am a hard core Fiocci fan.
It is alot harder to find 165 gr in jhp 50 rnd boxes, as opposed to the 180 gr 20 rnd boxes...especially at this price. No ftl, ftf, fte or stovepipes. I shoot a taurus PT 24/7 PRO DS and it seems to handle the 165 gr better than the 180 gr but maybe its just me. have purchased this ammo twice so far and will do again, the quality, price, and service have been great.
I use them on the job. You are right, I'm a cop. Sad but true had to draw down on someone. I may have been ten to thirteen yards away. It shot true and on the mark. Thank god it's and excellent bullet, the S&W did it's job too
