These .45 ACP jacketed hollow-point (JHP) rounds from Speer are an excellent choice for high fidelity training and feed testing with new pistols and magazines. While not made exactly to the contract specification for Speer Gold Dot G2 "54256," these "954256*" labeled rounds are made using the same premium +P charge loaded into a smooth-feeding, nickel-plated brass casing which is topped by the next generation Gold Dot G2 JHP projectile.

The G2 bullet design shares the same Uni-Cor bonding process as the classic Gold Dot for a superior quality jacket which won't separate from the lead core upon entry; this preserves the momentum needed to penetrate deeply enough to reach vital zones for an effective threat stop. New additions to the design include a single-rib cannelure which contributes to weight retention and an elastomer filling in the hollow cavity which not only resists clogging from heavy leather and denim but initiates expansion upon impact.

This translates to a dependable petal spread with a wide diameter from tip to tip for the largest possible wound cavities. The elastomer filling is especially measured so that it does not contact the feed ramp and cause malfunctions nor push the projectile weight outside of the acceptable 230 grain range; this makes for a flat in-flight trajectory and an excellent energy transfer due to the +P charge.
