This 45 ACP ammunition by Black Hills is specialized for self-defense, yet it hasn’t got a jacketed hollow point bullet. Instead it has the HoneyBadger, engineered by Lehigh Defense to create a massive wound channel in soft tissue without a nose cavity that could trip up feeding in a semi-auto or clog with debris on impact.

The HoneyBadger is made of solid copper, making it lighter than a traditional lead core bullet and accordingly granting it a blistering 1,250 fps muzzle velocity. The tough little bullet pierces barriers with ease to shore up deeply within soft tissue. The HoneyBadger’s sharp edges cut through flesh as it bores inward like a drill bit, while its radial flutes simultaneously engage with soft tissues to eject them violently outward.

Through some clever manipulation of physics the HoneyBadger actually pushes soft tissues outward even more quickly than the rate at which it is moving forward. The effect? Massive cavitation, a devastating wound channel, and a threat that has been thoroughly neutralized.

The HoneyBadger can’t deposit lead residue in a handgun’s barrel to chip away at its accuracy. Black Hills’ select primers and propellant promote even cleaner performance, and their straight-walled brass cases should cycle smoothly even after they have been reloaded.
