The .223 Remington cartridges in this box of 50 rounds each carry a 36 grain Barnes Varmint Grenade hollow point bullet specifically designed for varmint hunting. These Black Hills cartridges use reloadable brass cases, high-quality primers and non-corrosive propellant to make a reliable, clean-shooting round you can depend on when you’re in the field.

The Barnes Varmint Grenade is a unique bullet design introduced in 2007. The Varmint Grenade is based on a design Barnes put together for the military, repurposed to take out small pest and predator animals. The jacketed bullet’s central cavity contains a copper-tin powdered metal core, allowing it to stay together at high velocities but fragment on impact. The fragmentation will absolutely destroy targets like squirrels or prairie dogs, while the limited penetration allows you to take predators with minimal damage to their valuable skins.

Black Hills has been manufacturing ammunition for over 30 years. They offer a wide range of .223 Rem and cowboy action ammunition. Their ammunition is popular among competitive shooters and is generally considered equivalent to popular handloads.
