The old cartoons made varmint hunting look much more complicated than it actually is. All you need is a 223 Rem (or 5.56x45) rifle and a few boxes of Fiocchi’s Varmint Grenade ammunition. You have our personal guarantee that the varmints won’t hit you with giant wooden mallets or trick you into walking off a cliff while you’re hunting with this Missouri-made ammunition!

This round’s 50 grain lead-free bullet is suitably named. Once the Varmint Grenade connects with a small fleshy target, it bursts apart so as to kill quickly and minimize the risk of overpenetration that could damage a predator’s pelt. The Varmint Grenade features a thin copper shell and a frangible copper-tin core, as well as the hollow point nose cavity which triggers its nearly instantaneous self-destruction after impact.

Fiocchi seats Barnes’ high-quality small game slayer in a new production brass case. The clean-shooting leadless bullet is backed by a charge of low-residue propellant, as well as a noncorrosive Boxer primer that takes care of reliable ignition. The lighter bullet achieves a higher muzzle velocity of 3,300 fps, so you can expect a flatter trajectory (with the trade-off of greater vulnerability to wind drift, of course).
