A: Absolutely sir! This round has a new brass case and Boxer primer pocket, the two things you want. You can even see where its case's neck and shoulder are annealed. That means it was heat-treated at the factory to keep the brass more supple, so it will reliably return to its original dimensions following ignition. Federal's American Eagle brass is very commonly reloaded.

A: Hey, the only dumb folks are the ones who don't ask questions. And the answer is yes – if your AR-15 is chambered for 5.56, it will fire this ammo.
The vast majority of AR-15 rifles are chambered for 5.56x45 ammunition. The 223 Rem is not identical to the 5.56, but it is so similar that you can also fire it in a rifle chambered for 5.56.
An FMJBT is the correct bullet for target shooting and range training. We haven't got specialized ammo for self-defense in stock, but you can still effectively neutralize a threat with this ammo. The U.S. Army uses ammo like this in combat, as a matter of fact.
