This 223 Rem cartridge is perfect for pretty much anything you’d like to do with your AR-15 short of self-defense and hunting. Its conventional weight 55 grain bullet wears a hard copper jacket that promotes easy feeding, resists deformation for superior accuracy, and prevents rapid fouling of the barrel.

Very nicely, this bullet further features a boat tail. That tapered base lets the bullet create a lot less drag as it pierces the air, and as the result it keeps a flatter trajectory and greater momentum downrange. This round’s ballistic coefficient is .269. In effect, it retains nearly 60 percent of its 3,240 fps muzzle velocity after it has flown 400 yards!

Federal packaged all 300 of these rounds in a convenient plastic tub, so you won’t have to pick apart cardboard boxes as you’re getting into the swing of things at your range stall. Like all American Eagle loads, these rounds offer the reliable brass shell casings you need for smooth cycling, cleaner ignition, and the option to reload afterward. These rounds also sport non-corrosive primers and clean burning propellant, so you can wait to maintain your rifle until you’ve gotten back home.
