Additional Resources
This 223 Rem cartridge has a frangible bullet. Its entire core is made of compressed copper and tin powders, so it disintegrates the moment it hits a steel target or other solid surface. Unlike an FMJ, this bullet is pretty much incapable of ricocheting or bombarding you with splash-back!
The bullet is also lead-free, so it won’t cloud up an indoor range with poisonous lead particles during a training session. Even though it lacks any dense lead, the bullet still weighs 55 grains and achieves a standard M193 load’s muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps. You’ll benefit from the same kind of recoil and ballistic performance as your self-defense ammo! The bullet is also jacketed, which strengthens its frangible core to protect it from cracking in the magazine or during feeding.
This frangible ammo features Remington’s usual reliable primers and clean-burning propellant. Its brass cases are also Big Green’s best, so they’ll feed and extract like a charm even after you’re reloaded them a few times.
