Varmints were gifted with many abilities: burrowing, scurrying, gnawing, and musical chirping, to name a few. Hunting such ultimate creatures was once incredibly difficult -- but now that we’ve got Hornady’s V-MAX, their days are numbered.

This 223 Rem cartridge features a 55 grain version of the preeminent varmint hunting bullet. The V-MAX delivers the accuracy necessary for hunting small and easily frightened game, and features a streamlined profile and sharp polymer tip that give it a high ballistic coefficient. Its swaged lead core and concentric gilding metal jacket keep its rotation stable as well.

The V-MAX’s terminal performance is just as impressive as its trajectory. The bullet’s tip extends down within its core, stopping just short of touching it. Upon impact the tip generates great energy, ultimately fragmenting the core and the jacket violently outward.

This round was created by Fiocchi, likely at their Missouri production facility. It evinces all of the quality that has kept the Old World manufacturer in business for nearly one and a half centuries, complete with a precise brass case, clean burning propellant, and sensitive Boxer primer. Fiocchi and Hornady always make a great team!
