We do not recommend this ammo for hunting or home defense. Thats because its bullet is the 69 grain MatchKing hollow point boat tail, which designed exclusively for accuracy and not terminal expansion. A cop might use it to neutralize a threat, albeit over a much farther distance than the average civilian would ever have to defend themself across.
The MatchKing isn’t just heavy to reduce wind deflection. Its thin, concentric copper jacket and form-fitted lead core both grant it superb rotational stability – the reason why it exhibits a 0.154 G7 ballistic coefficient, and rises by about 1.8” before striking a 200-yard target (assuming the shooter is centered up 1.5”).
This ammo’s reloadable brass cases are filled with low-flash propellant. It’s added assurance that bright light won’t blind you while you’re firing at dusk or nighttime.
