Hornady Steel Match ammunition is designed as an accurate but cost effective single use product for precision-oriented shooting events and training. This .223 Remington ammo is an excellent match grade load for AR-15s and other .223 Rem/5.56 NATO rifles.

Each cartridge in this bulk priced case of 500 (divided into ten boxes of 50 rounds each) fires a heavy 75-grain hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2,790 feet per second. These hollow point projectiles, sometimes also known as "open tipped match" bullets, are designed for superior accuracy rather than expansion or terminal performance. Their high weight and boat tailed profile reduce the effect of crosswinds on the point of impact, ensuring more predictable external ballistics for the shooter.

This ammo is loaded in Grand Island, Nebraska using non-corrosive Berdan primers and non-reloadable steel cases. The cases are polymer coated for more reliable feeding and ejection and contribute significantly to the low cost of this ammunition compared to brass cased rounds.
