A: Hi Justin! The total metal jacket (TMJ) does not undergo any significant terminal expansion inside its target. Its terminal ballistics are pretty much identical to an FMJ's. The only real difference between the two bullets is the TMJ's jacket, which fully encapsulates the base of its lead core. The TMJ is designed to prevent lead aerosolization during ignition, which promotes a cleaner range, cleaner barrel and cleaner lungs.

Thank you for reaching out to us! The manufacturer, Federal, lists the ballistic coefficient to be .400 on their website.

A: Hi Mark! Yes, this particular round has a totally enclosed lead core. Not only does this make cleaning your rifle a bit easier, but makes you a healthier shooter as well!
