The Super Shock Tip does indeed shock its target with overwhelming energy, as its polymer tip, tapered jacket, and concealed nose cavity are all designed to initiate expansion at the instant of impact. The SST is also built to enter deeply into its target. Its InterLock ring and cannelure both amplify weight retention by fending off core/jacket detachment.
The SST’s bag of tricks includes mountains of accuracy, too. The bullet’s tip, secant ogive profile and perfectly angled boat tail all minimize drag to a degree that earns it a 0.447 G1 BC out of Hornady’s 24” test barrel. The 165 grain SST’s ballistic data speaks for itself!
