Federal Premium developed the 30 SC, and you can do no better than the Minnesotan company’s range ammo for target practice.
This round is loaded with a 100 grain projectile that screams out of a 4” barrel’s muzzle at a rate of 1,250 fps – exactly the same specs as Federal’s Personal Defense HST series 30 SC cartridge. But instead of a high-tech jacketed hollow point, this round’s bullet is a far more cost-effective FMJ. Its flat nose profile lets the bullet exhibit comparable ballistic performance to the analogous self-defense load, and its recoil is virtually identical as well.
Federal doesn’t ship a 30 SC cartridge unless it is loaded with their own high-quality new production brass case, sensitive Boxer primer and specially formulated clean-burning propellant. And so long as you’re stocking up on 1,000 rounds of ammo, you may want to pick up a few stacks of targets while you’re at it!
