This is police grade ammo that any private citizen can trust in their everyday carry. The Gold Dot jacketed hollow point bullet begins as a pressure-formed alloyed lead core, which is fused to its copper jacket one molecule at a time via Speer’s proprietary Uni-Cor method. The Gold Dot’s jacket is extra concentric to promote more accurate flight; it is also extra tough, which virtually eliminates core/jacket separation to promote deeper penetration.
The Gold Dot bullet’s nose cavity is created during a sequence of two die presses. The first die press determines the width to which the JHP can expand. The second press determines how quickly the JHP can expand, which promotes more reliable terminal ballistics even if the bullet must first pierce a barrier like thick clothing, plywood, particle board or wall board.
Nickel-plated brass cases aren’t just pretty. They also make Speer Gold Dot ammo more visible in the chamber and magazine, more resistant against corrosion, and less frictive to facilitate reliable functionality in a semi-automatic. CCI’s hyper-reliable primers make sure every stroke of the firing pin produces a bang!
30 Super Carry is a handgun cartridge introduced by Federal in 2022. It is not compatible with firearms that are chambered for other cartridges with names that begin with the number “30,” such as 30 Carbine or 30 Thompson Center.
