This 300 AAC Blackout cartridge is from Hornady’s Tactical Application Police label, so it’s built to stand up to the diverse needs of law enforcement professionals. The Nebraskan manufacturer’s select brass casings, sensitive primers, and specially formulated propellant all support wholly reliable functioning. This round delivers a low muzzle signature, reducing the kind of flash that can impact your ability to accurately direct fire in the dark.

This round’s 110 grain bullet is a V-MAX, which, interestingly, is traditionally a varmint hunting bullet. The terminal performance that suits it so well for game like coyote and bobcat also makes it a prime choice for human-sized threats. The V-MAX’s sharp polymer tip sticks down into a precisely formed cavity within its swaged lead core. When the tip is driven downward during impact, it causes the entire bullet to erupt outward in an explosive display of fragmentation.

The V-MAX is also intensely accurate. In addition to the perfect meplat supplied by its tip, its streamlined profile, concentric jacket, and evenly distributed core all contribute to a high ballistic coefficient.
