This round’s 150 grain projectile is a soft point – by no means as streamlined as a high-end polymer tip, but unquestionably capable of the task at hand so long as the shooter’s marksmanship is on point (or reasonably close to on point). The lightweight bullet’s fast muzzle velocity and 0.338 G1 ballistic coefficient (as reported via Hornady’s 24” test barrel) ensure quadruple-digit energy retention out to just beyond 600 yards. We’ve done the math so you don’t have to!

The InterLock’s closing act is a real doozie. Its jacket is crimped to its core by its cannelure, and embedded within it once again by its titular InterLock ring. This double-securement wards off the component separation that commonly leads to ineffectively shallow penetration. The InterLock jacket’s rim is grooved, and the rest of it is tapered so it grows thicker toward the base. This arrangement delivers controlled expansion, even when it’s got relatively low impact energy to work with.
