Berger’s VLD Hunting bullet breaks the rule about hollow point boat tails – that they aren’t built to expand. HSM’s Trophy Gold 308 Win ammo is loaded with these intensely accurate and lethal bullets!

“VLD” stands for very low drag, and it lives up to this name thanks to its aggressively aerodynamic secant ogive profile, optimized boat tail base, and narrow meplat. The VLD Hunting bullet ensures its in-flight stability with a form-fitting core and J4 Precision jacket, the latter of which is drawn to a concentricity standard of ±0.0003”.

The VLD Hunting’s jacket is engineered to remain intact until the bullet has penetrated to a depth of 2” to 3”. At this point it commences breakneck expansion, producing a wound cavity up to 15”! The resultant hydrostatic shock knocks the VLD Hunting’s target right off its hooves.
