Q: How will this round do for self defense out of a 2inch snubnose revolver?

A: Thanks for reaching out Anthony! Magtech recorded this round's 886 fps muzzle velocity with a 4" barrel. Your snub nose is obviously going to deliver a lower muzzle velocity. Exactly how much I could not say without doing a proper chronograph test. All of that said, this cartridge is an effective choice for self-defense. It's overpressure, so inclined to strike with more energy than a standard pressure load. Even if its hollow point nose cavity fails to realize very wide expansion, the bullet's broad, flat meplat (somewhat similar to a wadcutter) would still punch an injurious wound channel through soft tissue.
