The SCHP’s chief advantage is its superior weight retention. It lacks a jacket that could have detached from its core, and copper itself is an exceedingly durable metal. For these reasons the SCHP loses no less than five percent of its original weight as it passes through tough barriers and fibrous soft tissue.
The SCHP does offer terminal expansion comparable to that of a standard JHP, of course. It does so by protruding five flat petals shaped like fingernails, which together produce the wide wound channel which is more effective at halting an attacker.
At 77 grains and 1,115 fps, this round’s bullet weight and muzzle velocity are all set to treat you to lower recoil. Sellier & Bellot manufactures their police grade XRG Defense line of ammunition in the Czech Republic with new brass, non-corrosive primers and low-residue propellant.
