I think the Monolithic Hollow Point ammo by Norma is an exceptional ammunition for your personal protection ammo choice.
Review by JamesB83
I bought 3 types of ammo to test my new Ruger 380 LCP Light Compact Pistol. One was some Russian non hollow point cheap brand for target practice and to sight in my Laser. This brand was 90 grain solid copper shells. Then I purchased The Norma MHP Monolithic Hollow Point ammo 85 grain and shortly there after received some Steinel ammo Witch is also a hollow Point 80 grain shell. They all came in 20 round boxes. When I went out to target shoot I used the cheap 90 grain ammo first and it was very loud, smokey and to top off why it was the worst ended up jamming my pistol only after 4 rounds fired not to mention each shot was nowhere near the bullseye's on my silouette paper targets. Next I tryed the Steinel ammo and it was much better and slot closer to the bullseye areas where I was aiming. Lastly I got out the Norma MHP 85 grain Monolithic Hollow Point ammo and was very impressed. Not only did I hit my bullseye every shot but there was no smokey smell and a ton of black resedue left behind on my forearm only after bout 12 rounds fired. I went down where my targets where hung and found the Norma MHP rounds where completely opened while most of the other rounds I could see only opened up halfway or not even at all upon impact now this can be a problem say Simone was gonna rob u and approached you with firearm in hand about forty feet away and you pull your side arm and fire and the bullet doesn't even slow him down because the bullets don't even squish and open all the way up like Norma MHP ammo does causing maximum damage and stopping the criminal in one shot. That's why I only use this brand for personal protection only not for target shooting you may wanna go with a cheaper brand for practice.
