It is loaded with 95 grain bullets; a smack-dab-in-the-middle weight for the caliber, which permits nearly quadruple-digit muzzle velocity out of Federal’s own 3-3/4” test barrel. The full metal jacket has a standard lead core. Its copper jacket is plated. That’s the more cost-savvy method for applying a jacket to a core, but it comes with a tradeoff. This ammo is not to be fired in conjunction with a ported barrel or ported recoil compensator. A port can slice off a piece of plated jacket and hit you with it. You can live without knowing what that feels like.
