A: The ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol. While the GAP round is used almost exclusively in Glock pistols, the ACP round can be found on pistols made from many manufacturers. ACP will hint toward the pistol (or carbine) functioning as semi automatic. The term ACP is used with other popular calibers such as the 380, 25, and 32 ACP round.
Some ammunition manufacturers will remove ACP and use "Auto" in place to indicate its use in a semi auto firearm. For example, if you see "380 Auto" or "380 ACP", the same round is being referenced.
(It should also be noted that the 45GAP and 45ACP are not interchangeable in either direction)
