The Speer Gold Dot LE bullet is the best for self defense. the bullet expands very well and the penetration is excellent, I'll always use this ammunition in my Smith and Wesson 1911 PD. I'm glad that Lucky Gunner carries the brand of ammunition that I need. The price is right and shipping is fast. Thank You Lucky Gunner. One more thing, the people that work at Lucky Gunner are really helpful.

Bought the Gold Dot LE for my Springfield XD Mod 2 which I use for my carry weapon and let me just say that it loves them. In the words of Mr. T "I pity the fool" on the receiving end of one of these babies. These are a must buy for anyone looking for great self or home defense.

I just completed a round of this ammo through my new Wilson Combat Classic 1911 and the performance was outstanding. There were not feeding problems. I couldn't tell I was shooting JHP vs. FMJ. I'm very pleased with this ammo is it is my choice for self protection.
The price was very competitive and Lucky delivered my order in two days.

I really like this ammo in both my Colt 1911 Series 70 and my Colt Government Series 80. It is accurate and is highly reliable in both guns. Never had to use it for self-defense (thankfully!), but I'm sure it would do the job.

My Colt 1911 does not like JHP's however my carry gun of choice is my Kimber ultra .45. I emptied my Kimber magazine practicing a rapid fire drill and had no feeding issues. Performance was flawless. Speer Gold Dot was recommended by my Personal Defense Training instructor as they will penetrate a heavy jacket. I hope I never have to use them, but if I do, I have the confidence they will stop the threat.

Having used just about all of the 45 ammo and having six 45's , This is the only personal defense load that I carry. There is no greater round out there.. excellent knockdown power with controled expansion with no loss of mass retention.. Just the right amount of punch without to much thru wall penetration. The Perfect round.
