These .460 S&W hunting rounds from Federal are formulated for excellent performance for handgun hunters and mountain trekkers who keep a big wheel gun as a back-up in bear country! Fusion cartridges are fitted with bonded projectiles which have their copper coating applied via electrolysis. As a result, these soft-point rounds maintain perfect weight retention as their enter deer and boar. The bullets have rounded ogives for seamless insertion into a cylinder and precisely cut skiving that makes expansion quite dependable. In effect, these projectiles penetrate deep past thick hides and gristle and come to a halt in vital zones in order to achieve efficient, humane drops.

A projectile weight of 260 grains with 1,600 feet-per-second muzzle velocity means that these loads will produce mild, controllable recoil for those shots of opportunity. Federal completes the rounds using reloadable brass casings which are crimped to the bullets at their toothed cannelures; this arrangement prevents jostling under recoil that could spoil accuracy or even stop the round from functioning. Each case is equipped with a non-corrosive Boxer primer that has been bordered with moisture sealant in order to guarantee reliability in the worst field conditions.
