Igman is a beautiful mountain plateau in the nation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You may have seen it on television during the 1984 Winter Olympics (or gone off the ski jump there in person, in the highly unlikely event you competed in the games).

This patch of land also gives its name to an ammunition manufacturer that was initially founded to supply the Yugoslav National Army. The fact that Igman has outlasted the country which founded it speaks volumes for their determination and the quality of their product.

This 5.56x45 ammunition by Igman is a great selection for your AR-15 and all your recreational shooting needs. It adheres to the U.S. Armed Forces’ M193 specifications, and therefore each cartridge sports a uniform 55 grain full metal jacket projectile. Igman has not specified this cartridge’s exact muzzle velocity, but it stands to reason it is 3,250 fps or darn close to it.

This ammo is completely free of steel. Igman utilizes only lead and copper alloy to make their 55 grain FMJs, so you can take these cartridges to ranges that ban magnetic ammo. The European manufacturer also loads their M193 cartridges with new production brass cases, offering cleaner ignition followed by the opportunity to handload.

These rounds’ Boxer primers make reloading even more accessible, and they are non-corrosive to remove any need for scrubbing away caustic residues. The primers are protected against water infiltration by a thin layer of red sealant, suiting this ammo better for long-term storage as well as use in harsh environments.

This ammo is packed loose together in a big plastic bag inside of a cardboard box. A great thing to fill ammo cans with, or just to pick from at the range like you’re helping yourself to a buffet!
